French police foiled a terror plot aimed at police and soldiers in the central city of Orleans, Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said Tuesday.

Two Frenchmen, aged 20 and 24, are now being held for questioning after authorities allegedly prevented them from carrying out an attack, local media reported.

Both were believed to have been in contact with another Frenchman, currently thought to be in Syria, who was suspected of organizing the plot.

Cazeneuve said 10 attacks had been prevented this year in France.

The country suffered its worst atrocity for decades last month when Islamist militants killed 130 people in Paris.
