French President Francois Hollande on Tuesday received Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the Elysee Palace in Paris.
The meeting dealt with various regional issues of common concern and efforts made to eliminate Daesh and dry up its funding sources.
A statement by the Elysee reported that the two sides addressed the need to preserve cultural and religious diversity in the Middle East, as well as political and social measures to be taken in this regard, in the framework of the International Conference on the Protection of Victims of Ethnic and Religious Violence in the Middle East, concluded in Paris earlier in the day.
The two leaders also discussed prospects for deepening bilateral relations in the aviation, medicine, urban planning areas, the statement said.
Hollande offered condolences for King Hamad over the death of five Bahraini soldiers in Yemen on September 4, the statement added.
