French Senate listens to Egypt's view on regional issues

The French Senate is keen on listening to the Egyptian view regarding several regional issues, especially its assessment of international efforts for fighting terrorism.

Within this framework, the Senate Foreign and Defense Affairs Committee, under its chairman former French prime minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin, has hosted Egyptian Ambassador here Ihab Badawi to listen to the Egyptian views on this score.

Raffarin started the session with expressing keenness on getting acquainted with the Egyptian view on settling several regional issues given the major role Egypt is undertaken at the regional and international levels.

The former premier further highlighted strategic partnership between Egypt and France in fighting terrorism.

He asserted the fact that maintaining and keeping up State institutions is the only guarantee sparing any country from falling prey to chaos and preventing the spread of terrorist organizations.

For his part, Badawi expounded that the Egyptian State, has completed all commitments of the political road map that was approved by national powers after June 30 Revolution.

He also dealt with the Egyptian and French views regarding means of settling several issues in the region. He lauded joint cooperation in fighting terrorism.
