German Chancellor Angela Merkel met here today with Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who is currently visiting Berlin. In a statement to reporters after the meeting, Merkel called for a new beginning in her country\'s assistance to Yemen, saying we discovered today that a lot of projects have not been executed. She said we want a new beginning and we want to say clearly that we want to help in the fields of education, water and sanitation. The Yemeni president visited Belgium last night and met with Catherine Ashton, High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.
