Majority Leader of the German Parliament Volker Kauder on Tuesday asserted that the German parliament will enhance cooperation with Egypt after forming the new Egyptian parliament.
In press statements after meeting with visiting Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Kauder hailed relations between Egypt and Germany.
He noted that Egypt is one of the most important partners to Germany in the Middle East to understand regional developments and the situation in the Middle East and North Africa.
He asserted that Germany has full trust in Egyptian decisions for fighting terrorism and its cooperation with other countries in the region.
He added that the two sides are having consultations over regional developments in the Middle East and regional challenges along with the Egyptian role for overcoming these challenges.
Egypt is undertaking a major role not only in protecting its own territories and the Middle East, but also in protecting its European partners against the devastating terrorism, he said.
Meanwhile, Shoukry expressed desire for maintaining coordination with the German majority leader.
