President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi

German Parliamentarian Volker Kauder described his meeting today with Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as positive and constructive.

Kauder, who is the leader the parliamentary block of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU), also said that the meeting was held in a very friendly atmosphere.

In exclusive statements to MENA, Kauder said that the meeting tackled the required economic development in Egypt, which is considered an urgent need to push forward the development process.

The talks also dealt with the problem of illegal immigrants, he said, adding that Egypt is a pivotal state and an element of stability in the region.

"I put my trust in Sisi...and we support Egypt and its stability which contributes to the stability of the whole region," he added.

Regarding the agreement between Egypt and Germany on Libya, Kauder said that an agreement was reached to form a joint working group to tackle the Libyan file.

The governments should act swiftly to reach solutions, he added.

Europe needs this cooperation with Egypt for the region's stability, he said.
