Germany closed its embassy in the Yemeni capital

Germany closed its embassy in the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, for the time being and withdrawn all its staff, the Foreign Ministry in Berlin said Friday.
The embassy closed late Thursday, and the diplomats left the country early Friday, the ministry said.
The ministry said the closure was temporary and Berlin was closely watching the situation with a view to reopening the mission.
The United States and Britain also closed their embassies in Sana'a and evacuated their personnel this week as political unrest worsened after Houthi rebels overran the presidential palace in Sana'a last month, leading President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi and his government to resign.
