A meeting among Libya's warring factions and the five permanent UNSC members kicked off Wednesday in Berlin, Germany.

Attending the meeting were delegates of several European states and UN Special Envoy to Libya Bernardino Leon.

The one-day meeting aims at encouraging the Libyan rival parties to engage in a dialogue to put an end to the Libyan conflict.

After today's discussions, the 23 Libyan officials participating in the meeting will return to Libya for consultations before resuming their dialogue sessions in the Moroccan city of Skhirat on Monday.
