The negotiations and discussions towards resuming the National Dialogue with a new face is very much on, said the Government's Official Spokesperson Sameera bint Ibrahim bin Rajab, answering questions on the resumption of the dialogue and its fate.Addressing the media at the press conference after the weekly cabinet meeting, she said that His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, wanted transparency in every part of the dialogue. He called for a patient ear and prompt action to the results of the negotiations and discussions held with societies and others accepted by the government.The dialogue had been suspended following the refusal of certain Islamic societies to participate in the process, she added.The government has put its best foot forward in a bid to resume the dialogue and work out ways to bring peace and prosperity to the nation, she told journalists, stressing that it is for the societies and political groups to ensure that the process bears fruit.The Minister of State also said that the discussions around the CEDAW draft law would ensure enhancing the status of women in the Kingdom of Bahrain.The lifting of some of the laws, she said, would not water the Shari’ia laws for women, but, on the contrary, it would benefit women and help them have better standards of livelihood.
