A spokesman for Greece's coalition government has denied that it is considering an early general election to coincide with polls in May for the European Parliament and local government, AP reported. Government spokesman Simos Kedikoglou told private Mega television on Thursday that an early general election was "not an option." Conservative Prime Minister Antonis Samaras has promised to pull Greece out of a six-year recession this year but faces a strong challenge from anti-bailout parties as unemployment and social conditions continue to worsen.
