Guinea\'s opposition parties decided to organize funeral services on Wednesday for 11 supporters killed in the week-long political demonstrations in the capital Conakry. Opposition spokesman Aboubacar Sylla on Tuesday urged supporters to turn up for prayers during the funeral services for the young victims, including students and mechanics under 25, Xinhua reported. The opposition includes the Alliance for Democracy and Progress (ADP), the Association of Parties for Finalization of the Transition, the Club of Republicans (CDR) and the United Front for Democracy and Progress (FDP). \"The opposition also urges the Guinean people to make this day, Wednesday May 29, a day of prayers and meditation for the souls of these martyrs and all victims of political violence in the country, \" Sylla said. The Guinean government revealed on Monday that the political demonstrations were characterized by acts of violence and vandalism, especially along Cosa Bembeto Hamdallaye road. The clashes left 12 people killed, of whom seven died from gunshots, and 26 people injured and admitted in hospital.
