Silver City - UPI
A 65-year-old gun shop customer in Silver City, N.M., is in stable condition after he was accidentally shot in the back by a store employee. An employee of Copper County Sporting Arms was unloading a .45 caliber handgun when it accidentally went off, Silver City Police Chief Ed Reynolds said. The unnamed man was transported to an El Paso, Texas, hospital by helicopter. The street was temporarily blocked off by police so the helicopter could take off and land at a nearby gas station, the Las Cruces (N.M.) Sun-News reported Wednesday. Reynolds said the investigation is ongoing, and it is unclear if charges will be filed.
