Ezzat al-Rashq, a Hamas political bureau member, has welcomed, the Palestinian Authority's step to ask the UN to upgrade Palestine's status to a non-member observer state. "We are in Hamas with any achievement added to our people and national cause in all forums," Rashq told MENA over the phone. Yet he reiterated the Islamist group's stance that such moves must preserve the Palestinian people's rights and constants.
