Tunisian Foreign Minister, Rafiq Abdul Salam on Wednesday said that a heavy financial, social and humanitarian burden is inflicted on Jordan because of the large number of Syrian refugees who fled the ongoing turmoil in their country. In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Rafiq hailed the Kingdom’s for hosting tens of thousands of Syrian refugees and said his country is ready to back up relief efforts. He said the Tunisian government has been urging Tunisian civil society organizations to assist Jordan in providing relief support to the rising number of refugees.
