The Israeli military authorities Thursday ordered two residents of the town of Idna, west of Hebron, to stop construction on their homes on allegation they are present in Area C, which is under full Israeli military control, according to the town’s mayor Hisham Tmeizi. The homes were partially built five years ago and the owners, Hamza Mohammad Zughayar and Hijazi Ibrahim Zughayar, have been living in them when they received order to stop any further construction.Tmeizi said Israel does not want Palestinians in Area C because it wants the land for settlement expansion. He urged the government and international donors to support Palestinian presence in and development of Area C.Over two-thirds of the overall area of Idna is classified as C, which means the town cannot expand into that area due to Israeli control over it.
