Provincial police chief escaped an assassination attempt in Afghansitan\'s southern province of Helmand on Monday when a suicide bomber crashed explosives-laden car with his vehicle in a suicide attack. Deputy governor Ahmad Massoud Bakhtawar said that the incident took place at in the Latif square of Lashkargah early Monday when provincial police chief, Nabi Ilham, was on his way to office. The police chief escaped unhurt because he was traveling in a bullet-proof vehicle, however, two guards and one civilian were wounded in the blast, the deputy governor added.
