Damascus - MENA
More than 500 Assyrian Christian families have fled their homes in north-eastern Syria taking refuge in Hassakeh after Daesh militants kidnapped dozens of their community.
"They fled in fear after Daesh militants took the Assyrian Christians hostage early this week," Al-Arabiya news channel quoted director of the Sweden-based Assyrian Human Rights Network Osama Edward as saying.
Edward voiced fear that the militants may take families as hostages as contacts were lost with 10 guards of Tel Hermes after terrorists attack villages.
