India on Monday successfully test fired its nuclear-capable Agni-III ballistic missile from a base off the coast of the eastern state of Odisha, said defense officials. The surface-to-surface missile, with a range of over 3,000 km, was fired from a launching complex at an island off the coast of the state before hitting a designated target in the Bay of Bengal, test range director M.V.K.V. Prasad told the local media. Agni-III is a rail mobile system missile capable of being launched from anywhere in India.
