Indonesian President Joko Widodo

Indonesian President Joko Widodo inaugurated on Wednesday the Afro-Asian Summit 2015 with the participation of 34 presidents and heads of state from Africa and Asia.

Egypt's delegationt to the summit is chaired by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab.

The Indonesian president reiterated the importance of bolstering cooperation between the two countries in all domains, epecially in economy.

He also pressed the need for introducing reforms to the UN to benefit all member states, urging more cooperation in combating terrorism, violence and the spread of radical and extremist ideologies.

Widodo also highlighted the necessity of establishing an independent Palestinian sate and ending the occupation of Palestine, the only Islamic state which is still under occupation till now.
