Information Minister Salah Abdel-Maksoud stressed Egypt will restore its prominent status in the region soon. President Mohamed Morsi paid his first foreign visits to Egypt\'s African neighboring countries including Sudan, Abdel-Maksoud said during a meeting with the Shura Council\'s Committee for African Affairs on Tuesday. Egypt has started adopting an open door policy toward African countries, said the minister, adding the ministry is exerting strenuous efforts to activate media cooperation with African countries.
