Turkish Parliament Speaker  CemilCicek said the international community is ill-proportioned on Cyprus issue. Speaking after his meeting with Ambassador of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in Ankara Mustafa Lakadamyali and heads of TRNC Warriors Association, Cicek stated that Turkey and the TRNC strived hard for permanent peace on the island, and the difficulties that both countries encountered towards peace continue. Visiting Cicek on the occasion of the 39th anniversary of the July 20 Cyprus Peace Operation, Lakadamyali noted that the conditions enabling a free and safe life with one\'s head high emerged as a result of the peace operation starting on the morning of July 20. \"The operations brought peace and tranquility both for the island and for the region,\" said Lakadamyali, highlighting that TRNC is confident about its future thanks to Turkey. Reminding the Greek atrocity and slaughtered people, especially women and children, until the July 20 Cyprus Peace Operation, Cicek stressed that it is not that easy to make the cries of those suffering heard at the international area like in Syria. \"The door to peace has been opened on July 20. Since then, TRNC founded its own state with an independent Turkish community on the island as a part of the homeland. There are two states and two people on the island. Turkish people are not a minority there,\" he stressed. Cicek also underlined that international community is biased on Cyprus issue, blocking the way towards peace. \"Unfortunately, international community is ill-proportioned on Cyprus issue. It doesn\'t make a righteous evaluation regarding the incidents, but seeks its own interests even on this issue. We are the party that desires peace but the Greek party, not wanting peace, receives protection,\" he said.
