Iran's foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, accompanied by a foreign ministry team, left here for Rome Tuesday on a short visit. Zarif's visit comes at an invitation from his counterpart Emma Bonino. Zarif's talks with senior Italian officials will touch on bilateral cooperation along with international and regional issues of mutual concern. He was scheduled to visit Iran on November 7, but the visit was postponed due to three-day intensive talks between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN security council in Geneva. Zarif is scheduled to head for Geneva on Wednesday to embark on a new round of negotiations between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN security council.
