Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is slated to pay an official visit to Moscow on Wednesday to discuss bilateral ties and regional developments with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov. Zarif’s visit to Russia will take place in response to Lavrov’s recent visit and also to follow up on the agreements concluded in the recent meeting of the Iranian and Russian presidents. During his visit to Moscow, the Iranian foreign minister will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin as well as his Russian counterpart. Zarif and Lavrov are also due to take part in a joint press conference and hold interviews with the Russian media. Iran and Russia have vast cooperation in different fields, specially in political and economic spheres. The two states also enjoy special positions on the international scene and have long had constant and regular consultations on key regional and global issues.
