Ambassadors of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Vatican to Lebanon in a meeting in Beirut on Monday underlined the need for a negotiated end to the ongoing crisis in Syria.At the meeting, Iranian Envoy Qazanfar Roknabadi extended Tehran\'s congratulations to the Vatican on the election of Pope Francis as the leader of the World Catholic Church.He mentioned that materialization of justice, which is a common goal of all divine religions, is a main principle touched in the Islamic Republic of Iran\'s Constitution, and expressed the hope that a focus on the very same principle can pave the way for cooperation among many world countries, including Iran and the Vatican.Also during the meeting, the two envoys laid emphasis on the peaceful settlement of the Syrian crisis through talks and understanding.The two further reiterated the necessity of preventing the spillover of the Syrian crisis into Lebanon, and attached much significance to the protection of stability and security in the latter country.They also expressed the hope that all political streams in Lebanon would adopt logical measures to further move towards convergence and maintenance of national unity and solidarity.
