Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri will leave Tehran for Baghdad on Monday morning for a three-day official visit at the invitation of Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, according to Tasnim News Agency.
Heading a high-ranking delegation, Jahangiri is slated to hold meetings with several officials including the Iraqi President Fuad Masum, Prime Minister Abadi, Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri, Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jafari, and the head of the Islamic supreme council of Iraq, Ammar al-Hakim .
The Iranian official also plans to attend Iran-Iraq High Joint Commission as well as a ceremony to sign several agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs).
He will also attend a joint press conference with Abadi.
Jahangiri will further pay a visit to Iran’s specialized exhibition in Iraq, and meet Iranian and Iraqi businessmen as part of his three-day visit.
