Iran Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said that the country's naval forces are equipped with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), with different flying ranges, which can be launched by submarines, Press TV reported on Saturday. The Navy UAVs are capable of carrying out defensive, offensive and reconnaissance missions and can be used wherever necessary and "proportional to the assigned missions," Sayyari was quoted as saying. On Saturday, Deputy Chairman of Iranian Armed Forces' Chief of Staff Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri said that the Islamic republic will never give in to Western threats and pressures. "It is impossible that the Islamic republic will ever stop pursuing its goals, ideals and policies as a result of pressure," Jazayeri was quoted as saying. Iran is under numerous Western pressures over its disputed nuclear program.
