Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki congratulated on Sunday the Egyptian people and leadership on the successful vote on the new Constitution, saying this is a big guarantee to their future. The vote reflected the Egyptian people's strong desire to move for a new stage where security, stability and prosperity figure high, Maliki said in a statement. "As we congratulate the Egyptian people and their leadership on this big accomplishment, we hope that Egypt would restore its pioneering role in the Arab world quickly," he added. Yesterday, Egypt's Higher Elections Commission announced that 98.1 percent of voters have approved the draft Constitution.
