Iraqi President Fuad Massum

Iraqi President Fuad Massum and Prime Minister Haidar al Abadi arrived on an unannounced visit to Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region, Wednesday.
They will be meeting with Masoud Barzani, the president of the Kurdistan region.
The meeting comes four days after the liberation of al Dor and al Alam areas in Tikrit in Salahuddin province, northern Iraq.
This is Abadi's first visit to Erbil since he assumed the top post in September.
Abadi and Barzani had first met on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference on February 7 and discussed coordination to liberate Ninawa province from Daesh, as well as the security situation in Kirkuk and international assistance to fight Daesh.
Abadi had also met with Kurdish MPs and prime minister Nechirvan Idris Barzani and discussed pending issues between the Kurdish government and Baghdad, particularly where an oil deal is concerned.
