Iraqi President Fouad Massoum underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation with the US in the various fields for the best interest of the two peoples.
Massoum's remark came during his meeting with Assistant US Secretary of State Bright Makourk in Al Salam Palace in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Sunday.
The meeting was attended by US Ambassador Stuart Jones and his accompanying delegation.
The two sides discussed the latest security and political developments in Iraq as well as the military operations carried out against Daesh terrorist organizations.
For his part, Makourk underscored US support to Iraq in its war against terrorism.
The get-together took up also exchanging points of view concerning the national reconciliation project.
