Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Nuri Shaways held a meeting with Nickolay Mladenov, the Special Representative of the UN in Iraq, over the latest developments in the country. The meeting also tackled preparations for the forthcoming parliamentary elections, according to a statement by Shaways' office. It also dealt with the issue of Syrian refugees and the support provided by the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government in order to accommodate the growing numbers of refugees.
