Israeli occupation authorities have allowed scores of Gazans to visit their jailed relatives in Eshel prison in Beersheba in southern Israel.

Some 49 families of Gaza prisoners including two kids headed for Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing north of the Strip to visit 39 Palestinian detainees in the prison, spokeswoman for the Red Cross Sohair Zakout said in press statements.

About 400 Gazans are jailed in the Israeli prisons.

Israel has resumed family visit program for the Gaza Strip prisoners after a six-year suspension following the signing of an agreement between the Palestinian Captive authorities and Israeli prison administration after the prisoners started a hunger strike lasted for 28 days in April of 2012.
