Israel deployed on Thursday an Iron Dome anti-rocket battery in the city of Ashdod in northern Gaza strip, fearing a deterioration in the security situation and after the storming of Al Aqsa mosque at the hands of Israeli settlers.

The step was taken after some Palestinian groups called for marches on Friday in protest at the malpractices of Israel against holy sites.
