Israeli authorities distributed Sunday demolition notices to 40 Bedouin families from the Arab al- Jahalin east of al-Izzariyah village, southeast of occupied Jerusalem.A spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees, Hani Halabiyeh, said Sunday that Israeli army forces, accompanied by staff from "Beit Eil" stormed the Ahfad Younis neighborhood east of al-Izzariyah and distributed evacuation and demolition notices to 40 families and gave them a period until 2nd of March to implement the evacuation order.He added that the area resides 350 people and that they live in tents and barracks that were distributed by several international gencies, such as the UNRWA. There are a kindergarten and a school in that area.According to Halabiyeh, Israeli authorities aim at displacing those families again, after they were deported in 1948, and that the occupation wants to expel the Palestinians from their land in order to expand the Israeli settlement of Ma'ali Adumim and build a bridge that would connect between the settlement and Ahfad Younis neighborhood.It's worth mentioning that activists of the Popular Resistance Committees have succeeded on the 20th of March, in establishing the Ahfad Younis neighborhood in Bab As-Sams village on a land threatened with confiscation and known as E1 Area, east of occupied Jerusalem. Israeli forces demolished the neighborhood four days later.
