The so-called Israeli occupation municipality in Jerusalem has announced plans to build 1,700 new settlement units in an area that would be annexed to the city, an Israeli daily reported on Wednesday.Israeli daily newspaper, Yediot Ahronot, reported that the local planning and construction committee at the municipality will be discussing plans to build the new neighbourhood in Jerusalem.The Israeli anti-settlement movement “Peace Now” earlier announced that the Israeli government gave the go ahead for a plan to build 381 new units in a settlement neighbourhood in East Jersualem, which is in addition to a previous plan to build 1,400 units.
