Israeli Occupation Authorities are expected to hand over body of the Palestinian prisoner, Maysara Abu Hamdiya, who died on Tuesday in an Israeli prison, to the Palestinian authorities later on Wednesday. The occupation Authorities decided to conduct an autopsy on the body of the prisoner in Israeli "Abu Kabir" Institute and to deliver the corpse to the Palestinian side later today, said the Palestinian Prisoner's Club in a press release. Further examination of the body will be conducted by the Palestinian Authority in the Institute of the University of Jerusalem, with attendance of a Danish doctor and the Director of Autopsy in Jordan. Palestinian prisoners in Israel announced a hunger strike for three days to protest Israel's refusal to provide treatment for Abu Hamdiya while suffering cancer. Today will also witness demonstrations and marches in various areas of the West bank and sit-ins in front of the Israeli jails, especially in front of the military checkpoint of Ofer. Abu Hamdiya will be laid to rest on Thursday. Palestinian officials have accused the Israeli prison authorities of negligence and abstention from giving proper treatment to Abu Hamdiya, thus causing his death. They have repeatedly protested improper detention condition of more than 4,000 Palestinian prisoners.
