Ramallah - PETRA
The Israeli government decided on Tuesday to seize more than 800 Dunums of Palestinian land for opening and expansion of a bypass road “through Zawata” west of Nablus in the West Bank. Palestinian official in charge of the Settlements file in the northern part of the West Bank, , Ghassan Douglas, said in a statement today that the Israeli occupation forces formally handed over the confiscation decisions to the land owners of Beit Iba, Naqoura, Zawata and Ijnisinya villages west of Nablus. Douglas considered the decision a new escalation by the Israeli government, which coincides with the settler attacks on people’s property, calling on the international Quartet to intervene immediately to the confiscation decision.
