Italian Ambassador in Cairo Maurizio Massari on Saturday inspected the results of the blast which hit the Italian consulate in downtown Cairo earlier in the day.

The ambassador inspected the damage of the Italian consulate building and the remains of the booby-trapped car used in the attack early morning.

Meanwhile, security forces cordoned off the scene of the blast and the movement of traffic was normal in the surroundings of Galaa Street and Ramsis Square.
