President of the Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Debora Serracchiani, emphasized her region's keenness to develop multi-faceted relations with Kuwait, said a Kuwaiti official visiting here on Saturday. Friuli-Venezia Giulia is located in the northeast corner of Italy. The regional capital is Trieste. The Friuli-Venezia Giulia region is bounded on the north by Austria and the east by Slovenia, the west by the Veneto and the south by the Adriatic Sea. Debora Serracchiani is a member of the Democratic Party. She has served as the President of the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia since April 22, 2013. She met here today with Kuwaiti consul general Abdul-Nasser Bukhadhour who is visiting various regions of Italy to cement their commercial and economic ties with Kuwait. Serracchiani suggested to the consul the formation of a panel of experts from both Italian and Kuwaiti sides to study the possibility of joint cooperation on projects of bilateral benefits. Bukhadhour expressed delight at his meeting with the officials of the region and promised to relay their interests in developing close economic and trade ties with Kuwait to officials in his country.
