Italian Defence Minister Roberta Pinotti ruled out any ground operation in Libya except with a UN resolution, to restore stability in the north African country.

In statements on Wednesday, she said her country was following up the developments in Libya, expecting a political solution to the crisis through the UN-sponsored talks in Morocco.

She expressed his country's concern over the infiltration of members of the terrorist group Daesh to Libya.

She also said human traffickers must be targeted with military intervention.
