Italian Ambassador in Cairo Maurizio Massari hailed Egypt's government over speed rely to clear the remains of the damage caused by a blast that hit the Italian consulate in downtown Cairo.
During a meeting with Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Gaffar, the diplomat renewed his country's full support to Cairo in its fight against terror groups.
Also, he said coordination between the two sides continues to help uproot the phenomena which affected many countries.
Abdel Gaffar reviewed with the diplomat details of the attack and efforts exerted by security bodies to chase the perpetrators.
The Ministry of Interior is determined to maintain security and safety of all foreign diplomatic missions in Egypt, Abdel Gaffar made it clear during the meeting.
Earlier, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab assigned a research center affiliated to the housing ministry to inspect the site and work on restoring it.
The consulate building in downtown was severely damaged by the bombing which left one person dead and around 10 injured.
