Japan closed its embassy in Yemen on Sunday due to the worsening security situation in the country, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said Monday.
The ministry saidJapanese Ambassador to Yemen Katsuyoshi Hayashi and four embassy officials have already left the Middle Eastern country, according to Japan's (Kyodo) News Agency.
The United States, Britain, Germany, Italy, France, Delegation of the European Union and several other countries have announced the closure of their embassies in Sanaa because of the security situation.
