Japan is set to offer Lebanon a $20-million grant to support it in tackling the escalating issue of Syrian refugees, Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Takao Makino said after meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Friday. The pair also tackled latest updates in terms of boosting economic relations between the two countries, the official NNA news agency reported.Some 800,000 Syrians have fled their war-wrecked country according to U.N. estimates, a burden the Lebanese government has been struggling to cope with amid shortage of funds from international donors.
