Hosting a massive number of Syrian refugees stretched resources in all fields of Jordan’s economy, impacting the standards of services provided for citizens, said Interior Minister Hussein Hazza Majali.In a meeting with his Belgian counterpart Joelle Milquet on Monday, Majali urged the international community and the donor countries to fulfill their commitments and address the challenges posed by the Syrian crisis on Jordan’s productivity and service sectors, particularly in the most affected areas.Talks during the meeting, attended by Belgian Ambassador in Amman Thomas Baekelandt, also dealt with ways to enhance bilateral ties in the fields of security and fight against terrorism and crime.The two officials also discussed the need for increasing international cooperation and exchanging visits in view of the current regional and international circumstances in order to achieve peace and stability.The Ambassador praised the Jordanian stance which is supportive of the Syrian refugees despite its own economic difficulties.
