Jordan and Belgium on Saturday called for more efforts to speed up the holding of the Geneva II conference, which would help find a political solution to the Syrian crisis, the state-run Petra news agency reported. At a meeting in the Jordan's capital of Amman, Jordan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh and Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders stressed the need for holding the conference to end the violence and bloodshed in Syria. Also, Judeh called for more international aid for the kingdom to host more than 600,000 Syrian refugees. Discussions also covered progress in the Middle East peace process between the Palestinians and the Israelis. Judeh highlighted Belgium's efforts to help realize stability in the Middle East and create an independent Palestinian state at the borders of 1967. The Belgian minister voiced appreciation for Jordan's key role in realizing peace in the Middle East.
