Jordanian State Minister of Media Affairs and Government Spokesman Mohammad al-Momani expressed on Saturday his country's appreciation for electing Jordan as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council (UNSC) for the 2014-15 term. A total of 178 out of 183 member states of the UN General Assembly, which attended the session voted in favor of Jordan. "We will work with utmost power and use our diplomatic and political presence to serve international peace and security issues," Momani told MENA's correspondent in Amman. Jordan was a non-permanent member in the Security council during 1964-1965 and 1982-1983.
