Jordan foiled a major plot by an Al-Qaeda-linked cell to destabilize the country’s security by bombing shopping centers and killing Western diplomats, state TV said yesterday. It quoted security forces as saying they had detained 11 suspects and that the plot had been going on since June to carry out attacks in Amman using smuggled weapons and explosives brought from Syria.
