Jordanian King Abdullah II and Secretary of State John Kerry held talks on the sidelines of the 70th UNGA session in New York Sunday night on ways of fighting the terrorist group of Daesh.
They also reviewed Jordan's efforts within the international coalition to eliminate Daesh as well as the latest developments in the Middle East, State Department Spokesman John Kirby said.
Kerry affirmed the firm US commitment to support Jordan's security and stability to face the challenges of giving shelter to refugees escaping the conflicts in the region.
US Ambassador to the UN Semantha Power attended the meeting.
