Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Tuesday met United Arab Emirates UAE Interior Ministry Undersecretary Lt. Gen. Saif al Shafar and police commander of the emirate of Ras El Khaimah, Maj. Gen. Taleb Al Qasemi. During the meeting, attended by Public Security Department Director General Gen. Hussein Majali, they discussed ways of cementing security cooperation, particularly in the fields of training and the exchange of expertise. Ensour told the UAE delegation that Jordan had faced economic hardship, particularly in the last two years, which were the toughest for the kingdom due to regional turmoil, citing the humanitarian repercussions of the conflict in Syria on Jordan which is home to 1.3 million Syrians, about half of whom came to the Kingdom before the crisis. The premier hailed Jordan\'s historic ties with the UAE and said the Kingdom appreciated UAE aid to the Kingdom. The UAE team hailed the deep relations expressing their country\'s keenness on increasing cooperation and benefiting from Jordan\'s advanced expertise, noting that Jordanian manpower had largely contributed to the UAE\'s development drive.
