Jordan\'s Interior and Municipal Affairs Minister Hussein al-Majali said that his country would not close the borders to Syrian refugees based on a humanitarian dimension of the crisis. al-Majali remarks came during a meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration Anne Richard. \"The Syrian refugees have become a heavy burden on health and education sectors, infrastructure and labor market and put pressure on the limited resources of the country,\" al-Majali explained, urging donor countries to support Jordan. Anne, meanwhile, underlined the humanitarian role played by Jordan to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian refugees despite the difficulties economic, social and humanitarian problems facing Jordan as a result of the displacement of large numbers of Syrian refugees to Jordan.
