Dozens of Jordanians held a sit-in here Monday, calling for the release of their relatives jailed in Iraq. During the sit-in near the Iraqi embassy in Amman, protesters called on the Jordanian government to intervene and place pressure on the Iraqi authorities to release their beloved ones, especially those jailed without any charges. "Jordanian prisoners in Iraq face repeated torture and we demand their immediate release," said the demonstrators. There are about 33 Jordanians jailed in Iraq, according to the Arab Organization for Human Rights.
